Local Tuffy owner & operator, Ron Byrd, manufactured the barrier from automotive exhaust pipe and other related parts. From random automotive parts to an artistic design, the barrier is truly an eye-catching piece. Functional and unique, the barrier is mounted between the counter and ceiling with welded steel plates that stabilize the structure. The barrier’s 22” long stainless-steel exhaust tips guide customers from the entrance to the safe counter area. Once there, a 48”x33” oversized lexan barrier is certain to keep airborne transmissions at bay.
About the owner - Ron Byrd has owned and operated the Lake In The Hills, IL Tuffy location since 2016 and can professionally perform most anything on a vehicle. Prior to Tuffy, Ron had spent over 30 plus years working in the automotive industry.
